Before doing anything, I did some research for some cool ideas. This was my first attempt to design a cake using fondant icing. When I made this NY Yankee Jersey Cake, I did a rough sketch of how I would do it, since I have no prior experience in cake decorating. I know how to apply icing and that was it.
Mike and Maurice likes chocolate in general. So, we decided to make them a chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream and covered with fondant.
