Tangled. Who?

After a long night decorating the LV Speedy cake for Katrina, another long night again to finish this princess cake - Rapunzel from the Tangled movie, for Tita Imelda. Can't complain. I enjoy cake decorating. I even purchased a pay-per-view of the Tangled movie to see the movie's highlights / climax. In the movie, when the little girls braided her hair and adorned with flowers, I used that moment to make this cake. I also added the edible lantern since it was part of that touchy moment.

Tita Imelda liked that cake. She was wow'ed and shocked seeing this gorgeous cake. Originally, she asked for a three-themed cake - Tangled, Spiderman, and Lady Gaga theme. Since I only had limited time to make a three-themed cake because of the previous LV cake, she decided to have a Rapunzel cake instead. VIOLA! Here's Rapunzel.

Cake was a red velvet cake filled with cream cheese buttercream. Rapunzel was made of rice crispie treats and modeling chocolate. Lantern was also edible made of fondant.

Thanks for the inspirational work from Rheena, a flawless cake decorator in San Mateo, CA.

Purse Lover

This is totally a deceiving present - a Louis Vuitton purse, but a cake. Katrina asked if I can design another Luis Vuitton purse cake for her aunt in Canada, who is celebtrating her 50th birthday. She was very happy and astounded to see the cake. The cake was a mocha sponge cake filled with mocha Italian meringue buttercream with amaretto liquor. There were extra pieces of the cake after sculpture. Brought the extra cake slices to work to get people's critics. This was a review e-mailed to me by my colleague, Tony: "Very good flavor balance: not too sweet, good mocha flavor, but not overpowering. Really good job! And the cake is just how I like it: light, but firm and substantial. "
