Christmas Ball Ornament Cake

The Drum Up Business Event was a complete success!  This was my first cake order after the event held at my company.  Since it was the holiday, the cake design was a Holiday Ball Ornament.  I had some share of troubles when decorating this gorgeous holiday cake.  The original bow dropped and broke in to pieces.  I was so lucky that I had some red fondant left to create a new bow. Overall, I really like how the cake came out after my fair share of trouble.

The cake was a chocolate (popular flavor) and mocha Italian buttercream filling (another popular flavor).  The cake was adorned with marshmallow-butter-flavored fondant.

Ho Ho Ho!!!  Happy Holidays!

The flattering feedback I received from Maria on January 11/2012 12:24PM:

"Just wanted to let you know the cake was a big hit with my entire family on Christmas eve.  I used it as the centerpiece for the table and it was gorgeous and tasty for dessert!

Thanks so much for creating another original for me!

Mini Cupcakes for Drum Up Business Event at Pfizer Biotech

I was out on leave when a good friend e-mailed an information about FREE business promotion event to be held in our company. When I came back to work, I joined the Drum Up Business Event.  I found this as an opportunity to show my skills in cake decorating.  As part of promoting Hotkist Creations, I made a hundred mini chocolate cupcakes with mocha buttercream filling.

It was a hit!  I enjoyed being part of the event and I met Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause giving cookies and hot chocolate at this event!!! What did I do?  Sat on Santa's lap and made a wish..... Santa, I wish for a million dollar... LOL!!!

Pen Holder Cake for a Golden Birthday Celebration

This is Katrina's forth cake order (LV bag, Laker's basket ball, and Hermes purse cakes).  I am so delighted that she is very pleased with my work and with the cake flavors.  This time she wanted an antique pen holder cake in honor of her uncle's 50th birthday.

Another angle of the picture to show the top view of the cake.

The cake flavor was chocolate cake with Italian buttercream vanilla filling.  Vanilla bean from Italy was added to enhanced the vanilla filling's flavor.

Diaper Dress

Sara and John are expecting a baby girl by December 31, 2011. A beautiful baby shower was thrown for the couple in celebration to their first child.

I made a diaper dress, as shown in the center of the picture. The diaper dress was branded with Calvin Klein in honor of John, who is an exectutive in Calvin Klein company.

Christening Dress Cake for Ethan

Late posting for November.

After a successful Onesie Baby Shower cake and cupcakes, Aunt Eden requested me to make another cake for her daughter's son's Christening.  This time it was a Christening Gown cake and cupcakes.  It was a coincident that her grandson's Christening is the day after my baby son's Christening.  I was grateful that my sister, Sheena, who is also a cake decorator in CA, helped me with organizing my son's Christening and with Ethan's cupcake decorating.  We delivered the cake to the venue at Fiesta Catering in the northern New Jersey.

Here's how it was packaged.

The cake was a chocolate cake with chocolate-caramel mousse filling and covered with vanilla buttercream and adorned with fondant.  The Christening dress was airbrushed with pearl food coloring to give a smooth-satin look.

The baby shoes was made in gum paste and fondant.

Toy Box Cake for Benjamin

Another late posting for September.

It's sad that I wasn't able to finish the cake for my son, Benjamin David. It's a mimic of his Toy Box in his nursery room. It's difficult baking and decorating cake when you have a newborn baby who demands milk and changing of dirty diaper.

Thanks for the inspirational work from Rheena, a flawless cake decorator in San Mateo, CA.

Finding Nemo

Late posting for September.

On Sept. 22, I was 37 weeks and 2 days pregnant when making and decorating this gorgeous "Finding Nemo" birthday cake. It was difficult with big belly bump bulding from my stomach and rolling fondant. However, I was so happy and pleased with the outcome of the cake.

The following day (Sept. 23, 8:00AM) I was in labor when I was about to deliver the cake. Who would expect that I would give birth to a healthy and beautiful baby boy on that same day, Sept. 23 at 6:05PM?

I am still thankful that my aunts and uncle up to this point for delivering the cake while I was laying on the hospital bed giving birth to my son.

This cake was a chocolate cake with mocha Italian buttercream. The decorations were made from fondant. The characters were made from rice crispie treats and adorned with fondant. The cake was airbrushed with blue food coloring.
Happy Birthday, Angelina!!! To my friend, Mike and his wife Cindy, I hope you like the cake.
