Laker's Fan

This was one challenging cake to make. The roundness of the ball was difficult to achieve. With challenges, the cake turned out the way I hoped it to be. However, the humidity in this season (summer) is not cooperating with me even with full blast airconditioning. What I need next is to purchase a dehumidifier. Hope this will solve my problem with humidity.
This cake was gifted to Uncle Boy on his 50th birthday from his beloved niece Katrina and nephew Jepoy. She wanted a simple cake, but I made it more than what she expected. She was ecstatic! It's more that what she expects!
The cake was made in mocha sponge cake filled with mocha Amaretto Italian buttercream. The cake was airburushed with orange food cloring to bring out the true orange color of the basketball.
The Laker's Playoff Ticket was made in icing sheet printed in food coloring and attached to fondant. The Laker's Logo was hand carved on fondant.
Once again, another happy birthday celebrant! Happy Birthday, Tito Boy!

Baby Shower Cake from Khat and Family

Coming out from a routine 8-hour day shift and being pregnant at the same time, was exhausting and energy draining. To top that, I had to decorate a special baby shower cake for a friend. Oh boy! I had to admit that it was a challenging day for me. I learned a valuable lesson that day. My body is not as it used before – not pregnant. I cannot juggle multiple activities at the same time and stayed up late for long hours, like I used to. I was so tired.

Although, it was a tough and long night for me… I was able to deliver, yet another beautiful cake. I am happy and pleased with the outcome of the cake considering I had faced few challenges – crooked cake at first and dropping the cake later due to fatigue, and baked new batches of 6” cakes, make new batches of fondant, and start to re-decorate again.

This cake was a vanilla-butter cake. The cake was filled with rich and sinful American chocolate buttercream with crushed almonds. The cake was decorated with marshmallow-butter flavored fondant and adorned with edible pearls. The baby teether keys and hair clips were made of fondant. The "Mary Jane" shoes was made of fondant. Basically, everything were edible. Kids would love them!

Baby Bodysuit/Onesie for Capt. Baby Ethan!

Aunt Eden requested a "onesie" cake and 50 pieces of cupcakes. Since it is going to be a baby boy, I suggested for a sailor theme onesie design. I provided a sketch...oh boy, was it a hit! Viola! Here's the cake...

I am happy that the cake turned out to be so beautiful and that aunt Eden was delighted!

The cake is a chocolate cake, filled with Italian mocha buttercream, and adorned with marshmallow fondant. to give the shirt a little texture look, I airbrushed the "onesie" cake with baby blue food coloring. The sailor hat, shoes, and teether keys were made from fondant and are edible. The cupcakes were also decorated with edible sailboats made with fondant.

This is the picture before it was delivered.
