Darth Yoda

Serena had her 30th "Mets" birthday cake from Jean. This time Serena placed a Darth Yoda cake for Joyce who was turning 30.
Yoda, the cake topper, took over 8 hours to make, starting from scultping the rice crispies to covering it with modeling chocolate. The slowly scultped his face to give it a grumpy old man look like how he is in most movies. I was glad that the number of the cake topper characters was reduced from three (3) Star Wars characters (Darth Vader, Yoda, and Luke Skywalker) to just Yoda. Otherwise, I'll be jumping hoops trying to find time finishing up three characters in as short as one week.
I had my first sculpted Yoda trashed due to air brush malfunctions. Glad that after 4 days working in phases with Yoda, I was able to pull it through. Here he is..... To add humor, he's using Darth Vader's stolen/acquired red saber...
Yoda was made of rice crispies and covered with modeling chocolate. His robe was made of fondant airbrushed with brown food coloring to give it a nice old, dirty look.
Cake was a chocolate cake filled with Italian chocolate-mocha buttercream.
I am happy that Serena "Loveeeee it" [cake].
