Dancers' Birthday Cake

Lucia and Giana, both lovely nieces of my colleague at work, Barbara, celebrated their birthdays with this surprise birthday cake.  Both girls love dance and jazz.  So, the theme of the cake was focused on the dance - black shoe.

The shoe was made with fondant and gum paste mixture.  Then, the shoes were airbrushed with black food coloring to give it a nice jet black color. The cake was a delicate and moist chocolate cake filled with super rich chocolate butter cream.  The cake was adorned with Satin Ice vanilla fondant.
